What are the benefits of hypnotherapy?

There are many wonderful benefits of hypnotherapy and the state of hypnosis. Here are just a few:

  1. Access your unconscious mind

During hypnosis you are guided by the therapist into a state of “trance”, which is a gentle and naturally occurring state of deep internal focus. The analytical or conscious mind is quietened, and you are in a state of heightened suggestibility. This is a perfect state to introduce new ideas, beliefs and perspectives for change.

  1. Let go of old patterns

Due to the state of heightened suggestibility, it is easier for you to see and let go of old patterns from the past. Hypnosis is a state where deep healing is very possible if you are ready, open and correctly guided.

  1. Create new neural pathways

Because the subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between things that are happening in real life and in your imagination, hypnosis is a perfect state for visualisation and mental rehearsal. With repetition this creates new neural pathways, making behavioural change in real life easier.

  1. Connect with a higher version of yourself.

When you are deeply focused within, you have access to wisdom and insight which generally alludes you when your mind is cluttered and overactive.

  1. Deliberately relax your body and mind.

During hypnosis you practice deeply relaxing the body, and releasing attachments to intrusive thoughts. This is a valuable skill that improves with time and has ongoing health benefits.
